Yep. It's what you think it is. Hidden underneath that fluted pan is my very first Angel Food Cake. MADE. FROM. SCRATCH. you guys. I learned how to make it this week with the help of my dear friend Charlotte. She is not a blogger herself, but
this is her daughter and
this is her niece. Peruse these two ladies' blogs for a little while and you may get an idea of what an fun and talented woman Charlotte is. My friend,
April , started a weekly appointment with Charlotte at the beginning of the year, mostly to socialize, but also to learn some of her amazing recipes. I, being the tact-less person that I am decided to invite myself. Best idea ever. Besides the fact that I am learning to make delicious food, I get to listen to the wisdom of an 82 year old woman who as a love for life that is infectious. Every time we have to miss a week I am so sad...my Wednesdays seem empty without her.
Now, on to the cake.
Acutally, I don't have much to say about the cake other than it looked pretty good when I pulled it out of the oven. And now it has to cool upside down for like ever. The cake pan was a thrift store find...it was $1.99! Z-cakes and I definitely had to high-five when we found that deal. (Acutally, Z-cakes is way to hip for the high-five, she only pound-slaps these days) Also, blackberries were 88 cents at
Sunflower this week(!) so I bought about a million to put on top of our cake.
Welp...I'm off for now! It just occurred to me that Easter is this Sunday, as in, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. I have work to do.

How did April score Wednesdays With Charlotte?
I am so happy that you're having so much fun with my mom. She really enjoys the time she spends with you and April!
As Charlotte's granddaughter, I can testify that Charlotte is pretty much amazing. And that cake looks amazing, plus it tastes delicious!
