Nap time brain dump

01. It's naptime.
02. aka: the time when I plan to get a bunch of stuff done.
03. But rarely do.
04. Okay that's not entirely true.
05. About every third day is pretty productive.
06. Today is a second day.
07. So...my birthday is coming up.
08. I have my heart set on buying boots.
09. I'm prepared to spend some decent cash on them.
10. Since I hear you get what you pay for when it comes to boots.
11. And I would like these to last the rest of my life.
12. Do you think that's overly optimistic?
13. I care a great deal for these.
14. And these.
15. Yes of course they're both from Anthropoligie.
16. No of course I won't be buying them.
17. Am open to suggestions.
18. Also--I have wide calves.
19. There, I said it.
20. I anticipate finding the right boot to be a bit of a dilemma.
21. Alicia just posted these.
22. I kind of want them.
23. A lot.
24. And did you see these?
25. Also want.
26. Apparently this post is just about me having the gimmies.
27. So while I'm at it...this too please (in gray).
28. I tried taking some pictures with our webcam.
29. Since it seems to be all the rage these days.
30. I totally get it.
31. Okay that's it for today.
32. Because it is nap time.
33. And I'm going to get so much done you guys.

The Gimmies

Being underemployed has taken my satisfaction of window shopping to new levels. Strolling down the sidewalk peeking into dress shops and cooing over beautiful coats has become a new hobby without the added price tag that so often follows my newest passions. I've been having a wonderful time dreaming of "my style" once I actually have the capital it would take to build up a wardrobe (and the nerve). Online shopping is no exception. I'm clicking on all of the junk mail newsletters sent by Loft, J. Crew, Anthropoligie, and ModCloth; never buying, just wishing and hoping, gleaning inspiration and gumption.That is, until I looked at the new spring clothes from Downeast Basics. Looking through all of those clothes gave me a straight up case of the gimmies. Like, for reals. Here are a few of my favorites:

{frosted flower cardigan}

{He Loves Me Dress}

{Outside the Box Top}

{Stroke of Art Skirt}

Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, and gimmie. *Sigh* Oh well. Maybe I will devise a scheme to fit at least one of these into the budget. As my style idol, Emily, once said: My wardrobe will need to be replenished one paycheck at a time. Or...every few paychecks in my case.

What do you have the gimmies for lately? Or am I the only greedy one around here?

Oh! I almost forgot. Am developing some "finding style" manifestos. Of course I'll be sharing them here because what on earth is a blog for than sharing meaningless drivel?

Finding Style Manifesto #1: Wear more skirts and dresses. No, not just on Sunday.

3 Things I Love...3 Things I Want.

Three Things I Love...

I absolutely adore these shoes that I got at Target. My sister-in-law has them in mustard yellow *sigh* so as soon as I got home from visiting her I raced into Target to buy my own pair. Amazingly, they're actually comfortable! I was fully prepared to pay for their beauty with pain but luckily I don't have to!

When I had Z-cakes, I had that fear of looking like I had "let myself go." (ha!) If I was going to look 'un-let-go' I was going to have to step it up a notch from where I was pre-baby! I decided to start with wearing earrings everyday...or at least everyday that I remembered. I got these earrings at a boutique in Burley. They are by Silver Forest and I want to wear them everyday! They're so light and pretty and they make a sweet tinkling sound in my ear. It was so hard to choose which ones I wanted too...I loved so many of them!

When we decided to spend a week in Oceanside, CA visiting family, I knew I needed a new swimsuit. The lovely people at Modbe have designed some fantastic suits for those of us that are not so into showing our stomachs and may need a little toning post-baby. I was so excited to put this suit on every time we went to the beach.

Three Things I Want*...

Z-cakes and I were browsing around Sur La Table the other day and we happened upon these lovelies. How cute are they right? I've been working on getting the dishes washed every night before bed. I wonder if these would make me actually WANT to do the dishes? You're right...of course not. But still, I see they come in black polka-dot...ouh! and lace!

I am sooooo happy that April will be having a Shade party next month because this 3/4 sleeve cardigan must be owned by me.

Okay, since I can't wear my Silver Forest earrings everyday I need more earrings right? Have you seen Lost Button Studio on Etsy? I love all of her jewelry and again, would have a hard time picking out exactly what I want. I'm digging these vintage glass beads quite a bit.

Tell me about some things that you love...or want...or both!

*this is in no way a solicitation for gifts...just what I'm thinking about while I'm washing dishes...without really cute oilcloth gloves.
