While I was there I conducted my usually ritual of dreamily wandering around the staff recommendations, non-fiction (seems to be a new obsession), and best seller tables. Luckily, I had my planner with me this time so I could jot down the titles of all the books I want to read. I promptly came home and added them to my Goodreads list. Here's what I walked away with:
Lost Boy
Lost in the Meritocracy
Halfway to Heaven
Too Many Cooks
Always Looking Up
The Worst Hard Time
Ratio
Sleep is for the Weak
God bless you library.
What is on your summer to-read list?

HELLOOOOO!!! YES I am ALIVE. I kind of went on a technology kick so you will have to excuse me for not writing back to you. I think I might have to blog about my little hippy venture. Anyway... my email is jgirlcampbell@gmail.com. Hope everything is good w you. I'm so jelous of you and your ambitious cooking drive. I love to cook, but my husband is not too keen on the "new food" aka "different" and Dais just doesn't eat so it would go to waste. Luv ya.
OK soooo, the Altoid tins are a-dorable!, as is your apron. I want a Sunflowers, A Cooking Club, an invite to your house for dinner, and grilled shrimp. I love that you found something stupid and chicken based for dinner, that you and Nate talk on Google chat (it’s like going out to dinner at the restaurant where you had your first date) and that you threatened to buy a Caboodle from the Goodwill. Think that’s all.
If you're into non-fiction you really should check out Devil & the White City, The Unthinkable: Who Survives When Disaster Strikes and Why, and Little Heathens: Good Times and High Spirits on an Iowa Farm During the Great Depression.
If you haven't read Hunger Games yet, it's a fun one. Book 2 comes out in Aug or Sept. You may want to wait until you've got them both in hand... That's all I'm gonna say.
SO many things are on my summer reading list! Putting me in a bookstore is like putting meth addict in a drug lab. Seriously. It gets dangerous. Good luck on your summer reading! (And goodreads seriously is the coolest thing to do online besides blog.)
I recently read "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak, and it is a great read.
On my nightstand right now: "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. {I never would have picked this book up but for my book club's selection. So far, it is a pleasant surprise and has really got me thinking.}
Also recently read "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey. Warning: it's got some adult themes {profanity, insanity, and hookers} and is a heck of a well-written book. Highly recommended.
A bit DITTO here to your title!
I have a big stack of actual books I want to read, and about 150 more on my Goodreads to-read list...
Coming up soon: The Guernsey Potato, etc. (can't remember the title), The Count of Monte Cristo, and maybe Jude the Obscure.
Hey Miranda...The Lost Boy author will be at Tattered Cover, Highland's Ranch tomorrow night. Kind of a long drive, but sounds interesting!
