Giveaway :: Handmade Home

HH-giveaway

Good morning!
Today's giveaway doesn't need a lot of introduction. With two published books and a third book in the works, Amanda Soule clearly knows her way around handmade gifts. But still. I have to tell you about how much I love Amanda.

Soulemama is one of those women that you wish you could be more like without being too jealous of her. Wait. Scratch that. I'm toooootally jealous of the old farmhouse that her family has purchased and is currently restoring. Yes yes, very jealous. However, farmhouse envy aside, Amanda is pure inspiration. Through her blog she exudes such a strong voice from her corner of blogland that it seems like I've always known her. Her books are equally warm and inviting. I still flip through my copy of Handmade Home as though it were brand new, even though I've owned it for over a year.

Amanda is a mother. She is a knitter. She is a sewist. She is a photographer. And she is a farm-house owner. Have I mentioned that already? In her book Handmade Home: Simple Ways to Repurpose Old Materials into New Family Treasures, she emphasizes the beauty behind giving vintage fabrics, thrifted notions, and worn clothes new life. As I learned from Amanda how to repurpose old materials I found that my crafting stash could grow without having to spend a lot of money and create a lot of waste. When I was putting together last year's Handmade Holiday, I was unexpectedly able to make many of my gifts at little to no cost because I began to think in terms of repurposing. I'm very grateful for Amanda's quiet lessons of sustainability, innovation, and creativity. I have a feeling that you will be too.

The Details:
TWO lucky Narrating Life readers will receive copies of Amanda's book: Handmade Home: Simple Ways to Repurpose Old Materials into New Family Treasures.

I just checked her books out from the library last week. She is fantastic! And I'm jealous of her farm house too!

We'll be in the grand state of Idaho for the Thanksgiving holiday. Am very excited.

I love her warm, comforting presence as well. Can't wait to check out this book!

We're staying home sweet home for Christmas, just the way I like it. However, I do wish we were going to be in Denver for Thanksgiving...

What a great book! We will be here for Thanksgiving (hopefully not in the hospital having a baby... he'd better be here by then!) and we'll be at the in-laws for Christmas. Party, party.

I'll be in San Antonio for Thanksgiving and right here at home in West Jordan for Christmas. No place I'd rather be.

Wow! Jealous is an understatement! And we're going to Portland for Thanksgiving and Las Vegas the week before Christmas, Clarkston WA for Christmas. Jealous of that? I doubt it!

She is just so awesome. We'll staying home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, for the first time since we moved to San Diego, though we have family coming for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And I think we'll take a trip out to the Grand Canyon before Christmas (though not ON Christmas), since my family hasn't ever seen it.

I'm going to be in Oregon for Christmas, my first Christmas away from my parents and siblings. Josh and I will be driving to Colorado the week after Christmas, so at least I'll get some quality time in my favorite state!

We'll be stayng home for Thanksgiving and heading to Vegas during the Christmas holidays to visit with some family.

What a great looking book!

We will be in Colorado from now until spring.
With four little ones, I find that traveling at Christmas and bringing santa with you is totally impractical!
And I really like just doing our own thing on Christmas, at our own house.

still have the button :)

This is our year to stay home, since we make the trek to the midwest every other year to spend the holidays with the other half. I have lots of grand plans, I certainly am finding inspiration here :)

I added your button to my fledgling little blog, Eat, Knit, Love. It's waay under construction, but when it grows up I hope it is as inspirational as yours and Soulemama's :)

I'm not entirely sure what our plans for Christmas are yet. I'd LOVE to go home to Seattle, but it prolly won't happen. more then likely we'll be staying home and seeing the in-laws. (Like usual.) :P

Would love the book! I just moved cross country away from all extended family and will be spending Christmas with my own growing family. Excited to start our own traditions.

Love this book! I got to peruse it last night at the bookstore. Would love to make the handkerchief curtain as I have beautiful handkerchiefs from my grandmother that need to be on display!

For the holidays, I'll be going to my aunt & uncle's house for Thanksgiving. For Christmas, my husband and I will be going to Switzerland with his family! My first Christmas as a married lady :)

I will be home for the holidays, with family coming here for the big day. Sadly, my son and wife won't be flying in from Colorado, and he will be missed. But we will Skype with him on Christmas morning - the next best thing! We will Skype with other relatives throughout the day, to give my 4 yr old grandson a chance to interact with family he rarely gets to see.

I grabbed your button!

I am loving your blog! We are staying home and are being included in our son's in-laws' Thanksgiving traditions and meal. So, no cooking for me (only taking an ambrosia salad) which allows me to participate in the local Christmas parade Thanksgiving morning!
