Giveaway :: Penguin Bot

Penguin-giveaway

I'm not much of a purse girl, I have to admit. I've never been very good at keeping multiple bags on hand so that I can coordinate them with outfits. I can't peruse online galleries of the latest handbags and I am completely lost when it comes to the fashion end of these functional items. That being said, a girl has to have a purse. Rather, a mom has to have a purse. And if I have to have a purse, I would prefer that it be made by PenguinBot.

PenguinBot totes are sturdy and hip. Laurel, who is the founder of PenguinBot (and my sister-in-law!), has an eye modern fabric and she combines it with gorgeously colored vinyl to create totes that can be both abused and admired. I never go anywhere with my PenguinBot tote that it doesn't get compliments. And believe me, I got everywhere with that bag. It is, after all, the only one that I have.

The details:
Laurel has kindly offered one small tote to a Narrating Life readers. Here's what she has to say about the tote:

We used sturdy, high-quality marine-grade dark red vinyl for the bottom and straps, then paired it with an awesome yellow, red, and gray damask fabric for the upper. (Is it flowers? Is it owl eyes? Is it just an awesome geometric pattern? You make the call!) It's the perfect size to hold all your necessities, as well as anything you need to toss in at the last minute, like a book or some snacks. This sweet tote is fully lined with cotton fabric and includes an inner patch pocket so you can keep your lip gloss and your phone at the ready.

Size: 10" long, 10.5" tall, 3.5" depth

How to enter:
:: Check out the PenguinBot online shop for a selection of totes, oven mitts, knit clutches, and coin purses.

Congratulations Bethany! Please email me to claim your bag!

I have about 3-4 bags that I occasionally rotate. A good bag is hard to find!

I am definitely not a purse girl. Not necessarily by choice, I just don't think to get new ones. I currently have one purse and one diaper bag... that's it. I am, however, asking for a new one this Christmas that will double as a diaper bag and purse. :)

This is too cute!

Thanks for the chance to win.

I haaaaaaaaaaate purses. HATE. I reluctantly carry one that I have been limping along for weeks by taping its broken strap. But I love that PenguinBot bag!

I used to be a purse girl. Over 60 purses when I was first married. It was a little out of control.

Now...I own three. My family can barely believe it. I have one large bag and two little clutches.

I was coveting your purses during our knitting day. Would love to win this one.

Not much of a purse girl, but always looking for something functional but cute!

I have about 6, but usually stick with one for a few months. I love cute purses that are reasonably priced and not a walking advertisment for a million dollar company

I am a serial monogamist when it comes to my purses. But I do love purses. I have several wristlets for going out, and probably about 20 purses stored in my closet, for those times I decide to switch it up.

I've always labeled myself as more of a purse girl than a shoe girl. I probably have about 20 purses in various sizes and colors. This one is really cute!

I used to own 1 purse that I only used on special occassions. I usually just carried a wallet and put those things in my pocket when I was out. After having 3 kids and not wanting to tote a diaper bag around now that they are a little older, I have two purses. One is my out running errands purse that is a little nicer, but it still holds a book, snacks, a couple of diapers and a baggie of wipes. My other one is a small leather backpack type purse. I use that when we go to the zoo or out somewhere that I will need my hands to chase around kids! Love PenguinBot!

Yes, I have a purse. It is black, it is boring, but it is functional. It's the only one I have, I can never seem to justify buying another one, and when I do get around to doing it I buy for funtion not looks. I love this bag though, I have always envied the one you have Mandy, so dang cute!

I am a regular purse user, but only buy new ones once or twice a year. That PenguinBot bag is lovely and would probably be a good in between bag for work junk carrying and purse.

I was big into small, convenient purses before I had children. Now I am big into large multi-tasking bags...AKA diaper bags that don't scream, "I am a diaper bag." I have two that I rotate through. Would love to add a third!

Oh yes, I'm a purse girl. I currently own a Miche bag, which I love because I can change the outside without moving all my stuff over However, I have several other bags/totes because the Miche just doesn't cover all the "mom" necessities. I love bags! (Teacher/mom thing perhaps). I also must say that I want that red stripey clutch on the website! Love it!

I have lots of purses, but I am generally too lazy to switch between them. I do love bags, though.

I have about 10 purses, but I only really use 2 of them. I have a few smaller ones for going out, and a couple of larger ones that I rotate depending on where I am going. I love the look of this tote and it would definitely work for everywhere I go.

I adore purses...too embarrassed to tell you the actual number of how many I own. Let's just say it is ALOT;-)

I became a purse girl when it was no longer necessary to carry diapers with me 24/7. I went through a phase of too small bags and am now constantly in search of the perfect one for each season. I got an orange-cream colored one this summer that I miss every single day, but I'm kind of loving the pewter metallic one I'm using right now.

I love it... What an awesome bag! I never knew Laurel was such a talented designer, but I have it on good authority she makes an awesome double short foamy breve... or used to anyway ;)

This is such a cute purse! I love purses, but can handle having only one main one at a time. I like that the PenguinBot bag is big enough for a book--that's one of the requirements I have for my purses!

Amie said...

I'm really not a purse girl--it's too expensive to be one!--but I do own 5 or 6. All I either got for free or at yard sales for 50 cents. Why not?! Then you can have a different one each month!

Nope, I'm not a purse girl, either. I just stick my wallet in Rhea's backpack diaper bag. This one is so cute!

I love to accessorize with a purse or bag. I have a few too many bags than what's necessary but I change between them every few weeks. Bags make me happy and if I won this one I am fairly certain Santa would put a coordinating custom New York coin purse in my stocking! Santa always knows just what I want!

I am definitely a purse girl. I donate them of them after I am done using them though. :)

I am more of a bag lady than a purse girl. I love having various bags for work. I love my patchwork purse I carry now (I have another in the closet for when I wear this one out).

I'm a purse girl, or a HUGE BAG girl, really. I must have at least 20 purses and bags, one of which was made by Laurel (and I love it to death). I have also checked out her items on display at CakeSpy. Laurel is pretty much the best person I know.

Jenn said...

I'm not really a purse-person... It's too much trouble to move all the necessary pieces back and forth between each (wallet, keys, phone, ipod, chapstick, pens, etc) and something always gets left behind. I have 2 in rotation at the moment: one for work and one for school. I then have a couple of cute little things for weekends and going out. I love Laurel's bags (and other producst too) though!

I have 2 purses one for every day use and another for special occassions. Winning a purse from Penguinbot would be fabulous!

NOT a purse girl. I have a giant diaper bag that doesn't quite scream 'diaper bag' and a mini version of it for lighter outings. This looks fantastic. Thanks for the chance to win!

Korbi said...

I am a purse girl. Never was until diaper bags entered my life and after I hot the "don't have to carry the fully on diaper bag anymore" stage I started buying purses, and then never really stopped... ;)

I WANT to be a purse girl but I usually end up being a my-husband-has-the-money girl instead. I currently bought a purse for a work trip wherein my husband was not there so I was forced to tote my own money...and I found I like it!
BTW I love the penguin coin purses, I know just who I am going to buy one for!

i am not a purse girl and i do not own many handbags, but i really like this one... fingers crossed!

Kimberlee said...

I'm a purse girl in that I always tote around a purse. But not a purse girl in that I own one purse...not a collection. And I never swith out my purse to match my clothing. I buy one that doubles as a diaper bag then use it religiously until it no longer resembles a purse. Then I give in and purchase another one.

chitarita said...

I don't think of myself as a purse girl, but my tendency to fondle bags in stores (especially right before going on a trip) may suggest otherwise.

katie said...

I'm a purse girl, but also a poor college student. I only own three purses. I would LOVE more!

Sarah said...

I'm totally a handbag girl! I probably own about 10, including two that I've crocheted!

Ely said...

I have more handbags than I know what to do with... but then again I've been collecting them since I was a little girl. Most are just stuffed in two big plastic containers under my bed though. I have 3-4 I swap between that are semi-colour-coordinated with my regular clothes.

I hate to admit that I am a purse girl. I probably have 10-20 purses, but I tend to use one at a time over and over and over until I get really tired of it. At the present time I don't really have an everyday purse that I LOVE. I'm always on the look-out for the perfect purse! Thank you for the opportunity to win a neat handbag.

I am a purse girl but I own less than 5 purses. I like to buy an inexpensive but really fun purse twice a year. Because it's inexpensive it usually wears out in about 6 months. This past summer I carried a bright orange shoulder bag.

When I was younger I didn't think I was a purse girl. But now I find that I have quite a collection - 2 or 3 large ones that I rotate through as daily work to home bags, small ones, etc. Maybe I have at least 10 bags around the house in different closets and cubbies... (yikes)
