I already mentioned that this is the only picture I have of "the shower sandwiches." I sincerely apologize as these sandwiches are worthy of revere. I ate them the very first time I came to Sarah's house. She was hosting a luncheon for our church group. I left the house with a new recipe and a new friend.
As my sweet friend Charlotte would say, "make these and impress your friends..."
Baby Shower Sandwiches
Make or buy about 2 dozen rolls
Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the open roll
Stuff with one slice of ham and one slice of swiss
Pour sauce over sandwiches
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Sauce:
1/4 C. Worcestershire Sauce
1 T. Minced onion
1 1/2 T. Prepared mustard
1 T. Poppy Seeds
1/2 C. Butter
Warm and stir together on stove, then pour over sandwiches.
I've also made these sandwiches stuffed with roasted red pepper + provolone for our vegetarian friends. To quote Sarah, "Heaven!"

y. u. m. I'll have to give these a try!
"Heaven" is right! Delicious. I might have to give these a try this weekend.
I'm just going to copy everything you did for my sister's baby shower this summer. You did a great job and it looks divine!
I'm a little slow today. So - you pour the sauce over the top and make the bread pleasantly soggy?
Not quite. There won't be enough sauce to make the entire sandwich soggy. It will just coat the tops and then drizzle down and make the bottom a little soggy. Then you'll bake them in the oven and it will create a kind of buttery crust on the bottom of the rolls.
