I sequestered myself in the living room yesterday with the purpose of getting everything organized so that we would have at least ONE room put together. I'm pretty pleased with the results, though there are a few things that I need to add before I feel like it is really complete. My Ikea catalog has been dog-eared to death.
I'm not quite ready to show you the whole thing --mainly because the camera lens I need is currently MIA. But I can show you one of my favorite parts of the room (next to the ruffly pillow) the bookcase!
I know that the idea of color-coordinating books is practically archaic on the internets and that there are plenty of serious book collectors that scoff at it. But to be honest, prior to this most of these books were in the basement, double stacked on a bookshelf. So I'm quite happy to be able to display more of them where we will see them all the time, and to help add a little color to our "neutral color scheme" that seems to be boring me to death.
It was also nice to think of new ways to rearrange some of our decorations. I have this problem where I'm currently sick of everything we own but don't have the money to replace anything. I can't possibly be the only one this happens to, can I? Anyway, arranging them by color on the bookshelf made me slightly less sick of them because I was viewing them in new configurations.
So, what do you think?

I have that same "W" in a "C."
I love the color coordinated books! I might have to try that when I move into my married apartment. And don't you just love having a W monogram? I'm so glad I get to keep mine.
I love it. I, too, have my books grouped together by color on my bookshelves and it makes me very, very happy!

I love the W! It looks great, as you well know I AM extremely sick of my stuff, I am hoping when I move they won't bug me so much in our new place.....Cause I am also a little short on decorating funds. I just love books out where all can see, it is like a window into your soul, you are what you read!
