It's the first Halloween in which Z-cakes actually gets to take part in all of the festivities. She has fully embraced the exchange of a "Trick or Treat!" for candy and she insists on "checking the scary one" which means she wants to look at whatever Halloween decor a store has hanging up. I am astonished at the things that don't scare her. She is Little Red Riding Hood this year, and quite a stunning one in my humble opinion. She absolutely adores her costume though most of the time she ends up telling me that the Big Bad Wolf "is not scary," "is just pretend," or "he won't get me!" I love hanging out with her.
My mom bought Z-cakes' costume this year (thanks Grandma N!) and although at first I was a little disappointed that I wouldn't be making something for her, now I am completely relieved that it is all taken care of. October is such a crazy and wonderful month that sometimes I have to pick my battles in order to enjoy it to the fullest. Not that I consider this costume much of a loss.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We are heading to my parents' house to take part in the rockin' Halloween party that my mom puts on. A few of the posts that I intended to share in October will spill over into November (again with the battle picking), including a tutorial for my mom's mouth-watering caramel apples. I have a few surprises for November that I am very excited about. Here's a hint: it's all about spreading the handmade love.
See you all November 1!
XOXO
