Paper goodies get me every time!!
For Christmas every year I try to wrap with a colour theme; last year was white paper with green ribbon and silver baubles as tags and this year I am going Scandinavian with pale blue paper and red ribbon with cinnamon sticks and berries on adult tags and bakers twine and paper buttons on kiddies.
xx
Wrapping is my favorite part about Christmas! I think presentation is everything....My kids and husband could care less. They just rip the paper off, then all my hard work is spread all over the living room. But I like to put some of the presents under the tree as soon as they are wrapped so we can look at them. I believe in lots of sparkly ribbon and paper. And tags make all the difference! Sometimes I will wrap in newspaper or Magazine pages, or even fabric.
ideally, everything is wrapped in brown craft paper with red grosgrain ribbon on everything. realistically, i am still finishing off some snowman wrapping paper that i've had for a couple years. maybe next year...
I love tags!! My wrapping varies from year to year. I like to get 3 or 4 papers that coordinate so that everything looks lovely together. One year I bought tons of glitter snowflakes from Target to tie on my packages. This year I found some small glitter words at Hobby Lobby (50% off!) to tie on, they were in the ornament section. Always a few small ornaments to tie on the ribbons as well. I love wrapping.
I don't give that many Christmas presents, but the wrapping is always different depending on what I have on hand. This year will probably be a mix of leftover origami paper, plain brown paper, handmade paper, and a single sheet of wrapping off of a large beer bottle. Instead of ribbon, I use yarn leftovers!
Gift tags would be a great touch though. :-)
I haven't decided what my wrapped gifts will look like yet but I am leaning towards brown paper and teal accents. We'll see...
About as coordinated I get is that santa has different paper than we have. Santa bought gift wrap a few years ago and hasn't used much any year so he pretty much uses the same peper every year.
Believe it or not, I'm a HUGE fan of the wrapping paper in the Target $1 bins. It's pretty darn cute and, come on, it's $1 a roll!
I'd love to do something fancier like homemade tags and kraft paper and stamps, but 95% of the gifts I buy get sent out of state. It would be a waste.
I wrap with whatever wrapping paper I happen to have (and that's usually not much). There's no theme and sometimes I don't even wrap everything! But these tags are super cute!
I usually end up wrapping my gifts with wrapping paper from paper vendors that my company gets every xmas. Although, when I was little, my parents had purchased a huge, and I mean HUGE roll of red wrapping paper from a wholesale vendor, thinking they would use it for wrapping things in their store and making small bags for purchases. We also used it to wrap gifts at home, it lasted my whole childhood. When I moved out, I took it with me and it lasted a couple more years. I grew up only getting gifts wrapped in red paper!
I have not bought the paper yet. We try to get through the old rolls from the year before. However, I try to always mix it up. I'd certainly love to add one of Knitterella's gift tags to them this year. I might end up buying some just because they are so cute!
My favorite wrapping idea was the year that I used the kids' handprints in green, red and white on craft paper. I'm not sure if everyone else was as in love with the idea as me, but I thought it was cute!
I am going to wrap my presents in newspaper and use bright colored bows and tags to decorate. Hoping to change the old boring into something super cute!
Always different, but lately very simple.
My gifts are not usually wrapped very well I'm afraid. I am definitely not a gifted gift wrapper, I need all the help I can get!
my presents will be in gold paper this year with red bows. it changes every year. last year they were silver paper and green bows. and hopefully some tags!
My presents are usually wrapped in my mom's leftover paper. She goes bargain shopping for paper every year! But this year, hopefully they'll have knitterella tags on them!
Always red paper with either a huge white or silver bow made from real ribbon. We save the ribbon and reuse it every year. My tree is all read and white and I think it looks very beautiful and traditional. I love it and that is what matters! BTW, I'm loving this series and have found lots of great ideas and inspiration!!
just read my comment and I meant red and white. Don't want everyone to think I'm illiterate or something.
My gifts look different every year - depends on what deals I find on wrapping paper/bows/etc! :)
Oh, now I feel like I should have a wrapping theme, but I just buy what I can find on sale.
I'm a lousy wrapper. Anything that goes abroad only gets wrapped in some silk paper, in case it gets opened in customs, and they tend to be not-careful with things that aren't in plain sight. Anything that goes to anyone at home, I just wrap in any cheap paper and use a stick on nametag and band. (On occasion someone very special get a special pretty wrap.. but that's the exception.)

I am addicted to gift bags and colorful tissue. I stock up on them all year long whenever I see something I like. They are not necessarily holiday-colored.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I was working on a response, and it just got out of hand. I made a post out of it: http://jonandstaci.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-do-you-wrap.html
My gifts always look the same because I use cloth bags for the environment. Except for the kids, they get to rip some paper. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.
I try really hard for each of my wrapped to look special. Whether that be using a special paper or adding a special ornament instead of a bow.
I love wrapping presents. I usually stock up on wrapping paper from my kids' school fundraiser and I also love to hit after-Christmas sales, especially at the Container Store, for their lovely paper. My favorite part of the wrapped gift is the tag. This is where I like to get creative. My favorite idea was when my kids were little, I would cut out enlarged photos of the kids and use them as tags.... easy for them to pick out their gifts! The Kniteralla tags are just lovely. I am making a lot of handknits for Christmas gifts this year, and these tags would be perfect!

I always wrap in solids...usually gold, green, and red. That way the bow, tag, or accent really pops.
I thought about lying and saying that this year I'm going with bright colors (bright green, pink, red and yellow) because that was my dream, but alas, in truth I've decided that this is the year that I am going to finish all the old rolls! so we have quite the mix of kid-ish santa and snowmen along with some country-bumking brown/green/cranberry that I did a few years ago.
your button is on my blog. :)
I don't wrap to many gifts because i like the cute christmas bags and then I always put in a tag which yours are really nice.

My presents will be wrapped in Hallmark wrapping paper that I got an excellent deal on last year. I like to add bows with curling ribbon. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to wrapping and recipients often complain that the gift is wrapped so well it's hard to open.

My wrapping changes every year. One year it is wrapped in nice store bought Christmas paper, the next year all the gifts will be placed in colorful bags with lots of tissue and some even more colorful tags, and still the next year I will wrap gifts in handmade wrapping paper (i.e. I stamp on butcher paper and wrap gifts with twine and a tag). I love mixing it up and these tags are so cute! Thanks for sharing!
i like to wrap gifts in old calendar pages or interesting foreign newspapers or paper bags, with colorful ribbon and tags, or sometimes stickers. (i always try to be a bit green...)
My gifts will be colorfully wrapped - I don't use a theme, but just try to make every one look pretty and special.
I love Knitterella's work. Thanks for the chance to win!
I tend to use craft paper and then add some colorful ribbons, stamps, etc.. or I double wrap the gift and cut out different designs to show both layers of the wrapping paper.
Every year I try to do a theme of my presents - Last year was red and white, the year before was green, silver, light blue and white and used decorative wire for the bows. I try to keep it all the same but then outsiders (grandma's etc.) add their presents and it never looks the same!! This year I am going to get this wonderful kraft and red paper and get enough so that our guest can use it too!!! And I cut off the covers of the previous years cards sent to us with decorative scissors for the tags! Adds a little touch!
Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!!!
I use whatever paper I have leftover from last Christmas plus whatever cute paper caught my eye last time I was in Michaels or Target. Usually there are trees and snowflakes involved, and I use yarn instead of ribbons. :)
This year I'm going simple, brown kraft paper with red, green and gold ribbons/trim.
I'm pretty boring....I have a stash of gift bags (from other people) that I re-use.
I am totally coveting her humorous tags- since we are doing 100% homemade this year (for EVRERYone, even all our kids stuff-) these would really come in handy!! They remind me of Amy Karol's tags and labels!
This year I am going to try and wrap at least some of my gifts in fabric- both for the super cute factor, as well as the green factor. How much greater would any gift be if it came wrapped inside another gift of fabric?!
And since I'm getting ready to start sending some of my gifts soon, these would really come in handy... just sayin'.
And of course I'm still sportin' your button on my blog!
Wrapping the gifts!? Oh goodness, now you got me all stressed out. I hadn't even thought about how I was going to wrap the gifts. Your ideas are always copy worthy...how you gonna wrap them?
Sooooo not ready for Christmas yet! I had such great plans for holiday knitting, too... I just don't know how some people do it!
I buy my wrapping paper when it goes 90% off after Christmas. This year I've got red and golds. Last year it was greens and golds. My fav wrapping paper tho is from IKEA. It's more like butcher paper with a Scandinavian print and I love it!
