Oh! I almost forgot the before picture! What good would this post be without a before picture? I mean, this is the internet after all...
Ha! Awesome. This is a before picture of my room slumped over, wearing baggy clothes, no makeup, and a frown on its face. Obviously the transformation is miraculous.
So what do you think? Not bad for my first adventure in decorating eh? Please do let me know what you think. Oh! And Happy Monday to you my dears.

It looks fantastic! Love the color combo, love all the fun fabrics (that rosette pillow is adorable), love the photo collage, but most of all I love that you are missing your outlet plates:-) I only love it so much because I have a room that I redid many months ago, that are still missing the outlet covers too:-)
I am drooling. Fantastic job!!! I love love love those curtains.
miraculous, indeed!
Oh, I LOVE it! Miranda...you used my favorite colors. Beautiful. Makes me want to redecorate mine.
um... L.O.V.E. you rule. and so does your bedroom.
oh my goodness! straight out of a magazine that is! looks so amazing!
You did a good job with your photography - pictures look just like the real thing. I agree about the curtains... really, really like the fabric. Also the gallery - oh yeah, and the pillow too (it looks familiar). Awesome, Miranda!!
Incredible.
Beautiful room! Great paint colors. We're just getting ready to move into a house and will have a guest bedroom - I might have just found some inspiration!
um, I love it. The End.
Well, well, well. Isn't she a looker? You folks just wait and see: the living room is gonna be awesome, too!
Oh heavens, those curtains. They were the first thing I noticed in the first picture! And I may or may not have been looking for decent night stands for months now and might have to go to IKEA for that very same model. And then I'll paint them and love the result.
Your bedroom is just all sorts of pretty (and, um, manly, in case N8tron reads this).
Gorgeous! I love everything!
Looks fantastic! I like the circle mirror and I agree that it needs a little something... I know starburst mirrors are a big trend right now, but I think one would work in this space.
Very well done, Miranda! Such a transformation in a room you can now sink into and enjoy! Awesome and inspiring!
Sarah = )
Completely adore the colour scheme and what an amazing before/after difference! Well done you, it looks incredible!
xx
It's awesome!! I love the curtains, the color scheme, the bedding, the pillows, the art wall... well, everything. Nicely done!
Woo — looks awesome! The palette is great, and I really like your night stands. The bedding is really cool and modern too.
I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks like the pretty curtains go all the way to the ceiling. Did you make the panels? What rods did you use? I'd love to see another photo up high. :) Not to be demanding or anything....
Gorgeous! Looks like a boutique hotel. Curtains--awesome colors. Antler--TOTALLY work! Rosette pillow--can you send one my way??
Question on your closet curtain--what curtain panels did you use? We just moved and our closets came without doors! Was thinking of doing this exact same thing.
19 comments...are you kidding me!!! I'm lucky if I get two! Now, mine makes 20! Anyways, Love, love, love the room. Yes, the transformation is miraculously fabulous. Well done.
Love it Miranda. But I've already told you that. Also, fantastic job on the pictures. You really can take a magazine worhty photo.
the bedroom is gorgeous and equally groovy and hip and still fresh and fun. loving the scrabble tile piece and darling drapes. so cute. and your writing style is the bomb.com.
I love grey and yellow! What a happy, peaceful place--darling. And manly.
Holy crap! That is super awesome. I love the color combo--gray and yellow. I used to really dislike gray, but in our new house the downstairs bathroom is gray and I really really like it. a lot. anyway, you did a fab job--I'm feeling very motivated by your decorating. :)
Colors, I love! Curtains, yes! And great idea on the closet curtain, sheer....brilliant! I absolutely love the lamps on your nightstands. Love the nightstands. Love the pillow on your bed. Love the antlers. Love the paint color. Love the little red riding hood picture of Z. Good work, I would hire you if I could afford you!! :), Oh and bed in front of window...nice move!
um, that grey is amazing...so perfect!
@R.Pyper: I did make the curtain panels and they are about 1/2 a foot down from the ceiling. I just used a very inexpensive rod from Target. I'll try to get a photo so that you can see the top of the curtains soon!
@Julie: We just used a white sheer window panel from K-mart. I believe it is from the Jaclyn Smith line. "That Jaclyn Smith knows what she's doin'."
