Finally a House Tour: Day 2

Remember when I showed you our kitchen? Well now, a mere six months later I'm finally getting around to showing you our bedroom. Though, to be fair, it has only been finished for about a month. So that makes me feel a bit less guilty. Anyway, here we go:

I'll start right off by telling you that my favorite thing about our room is the curtains, but the thing that I'm the most proud of is the nightstands. They are the Rast drawers from Ikea; painted by yours truly. There is a good chance that you've seen this exact project on a couple of other blogs but I don't care. That is how much I love them. Also the antlers. I love those too. I'm probably going to start a huge collection.

We have plans to hang art above our nightstands but we (N8tr0n) haven't decided what we want yet.

Over there in the corner is our closet and oh, she is a tiny dancer that closet. I decided to take the door off and replace it with a curtain for three reasons: 1. Then I wouldn't have to paint the door. 2. Then we would have room for the velvet storage ottoman. 3. Then it wouldn't take up so much space when it got left open like it always did. I also feel like the wall with the round mirror needs a little something more but I'm going to wait until I think of something brilliant.

The small gallery wall is a work in progress. Eventually there will be more Instagram photos and hopefully a family picture if the ones we had taken at my brother's wedding turn out. This is very important information that is very interesting to you, I'm sure.

Oh! I almost forgot the before picture! What good would this post be without a before picture? I mean, this is the internet after all...

Ha! Awesome. This is a before picture of my room slumped over, wearing baggy clothes, no makeup, and a frown on its face. Obviously the transformation is miraculous.

So what do you think? Not bad for my first adventure in decorating eh? Please do let me know what you think. Oh! And Happy Monday to you my dears.

It looks fantastic! Love the color combo, love all the fun fabrics (that rosette pillow is adorable), love the photo collage, but most of all I love that you are missing your outlet plates:-) I only love it so much because I have a room that I redid many months ago, that are still missing the outlet covers too:-)

Beautiful room! Great paint colors. We're just getting ready to move into a house and will have a guest bedroom - I might have just found some inspiration!

Oh heavens, those curtains. They were the first thing I noticed in the first picture! And I may or may not have been looking for decent night stands for months now and might have to go to IKEA for that very same model. And then I'll paint them and love the result.

Your bedroom is just all sorts of pretty (and, um, manly, in case N8tron reads this).

Looks fantastic! I like the circle mirror and I agree that it needs a little something... I know starburst mirrors are a big trend right now, but I think one would work in this space.

Woo — looks awesome! The palette is great, and I really like your night stands. The bedding is really cool and modern too.

I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks like the pretty curtains go all the way to the ceiling. Did you make the panels? What rods did you use? I'd love to see another photo up high. :) Not to be demanding or anything....

Gorgeous! Looks like a boutique hotel. Curtains--awesome colors. Antler--TOTALLY work! Rosette pillow--can you send one my way??

Question on your closet curtain--what curtain panels did you use? We just moved and our closets came without doors! Was thinking of doing this exact same thing.

Holy crap! That is super awesome. I love the color combo--gray and yellow. I used to really dislike gray, but in our new house the downstairs bathroom is gray and I really really like it. a lot. anyway, you did a fab job--I'm feeling very motivated by your decorating. :)

Colors, I love! Curtains, yes! And great idea on the closet curtain, sheer....brilliant! I absolutely love the lamps on your nightstands. Love the nightstands. Love the pillow on your bed. Love the antlers. Love the paint color. Love the little red riding hood picture of Z. Good work, I would hire you if I could afford you!! :), Oh and bed in front of window...nice move!

um, that grey is amazing...so perfect!

@R.Pyper: I did make the curtain panels and they are about 1/2 a foot down from the ceiling. I just used a very inexpensive rod from Target. I'll try to get a photo so that you can see the top of the curtains soon!

@Julie: We just used a white sheer window panel from K-mart. I believe it is from the Jaclyn Smith line. "That Jaclyn Smith knows what she's doin'."

We grow up listening that proper diet and exercise are very important to live a happy and healthy life. Seldom are we informed about the benefits of a right mattress and the harmful effects of sleeping on a bad mattress.
