Mama Made

I finally got around to making Z-cakes a pillowcase dress this Summer. I used Susan's tutorial to get me started. Something about my measuring was a little off so I added some shirring to the top of both sides so the dress wouldn't look like it was eating Z-cakes. Actually, N8tr0n suggested the shirring. I don't know what that says about him but I thought it was worth noting.

In case you haven't tried your hand at shirring and elastic thread, let me be like, the millionth person in blogland to tell you how rad it is. Seriously.

This little dress was perfect on the hottest days of the Summer. I would make her more but I can't seem to find the stockpile of cute pillowcases I've collected from thrift stores. My concern is that they're in the basement, which is currently the place in our house where things go to die.

Darling!

I bought some elastic thread but haven't used it yet. I'm excited about the possibilities.

So dang cute. And, way to go Nate as I barely even knew what shirring was. In fact, had I not had a visual I probably would have resorted to google. :)

she is darling, and the dress is too. Very cute. Must make a pillow case shirt for my little princess.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Wish Sajay had a couple herself. Too bad her mama is NOT a crafty little sewer! :) So cute!

I LOVE pillowcase dresses for little girls. I think they are so freaking cute. I really wish that big girls could wear them also. She looks so adorable in hers!

I can attest to the adorableness of both the girl and the dress - she wore them at my house! Griffin asked if he would be seeing Z any time soon. You should bring her down, and we'll take you to see the witches in October.
